การศึกษาทางโบราณคดีโดยการสำรวจและขุดค้นแหล่งโบราณคดีในเขตลุ่มน้ำมูลตอนบน ที่อำเภอโนนสูง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา การขุดค้นแหล่งโบราณคดีบ้านโนนวัดซึ่งเป็นโครงการหลัก ด้วยเป็นแหล่งโบราณคดีที่มีอายุในยุคเหล็กที่มีการเข้ามาอยู่อาศัยประมาณ ๘๐๐ ปี และมีข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับยุคเหล็กมากที่สุดในประเทศไทย
