เป็นพิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติแห่งเดียวในโลกที่จัดแสดงเรือสำคัญที่ใช้ในงานพระราชพิธีของพระมหากษัตริย์มาแต่โบราณ ซึ่งมีความงดวามในฝีมือช่างศิลปกรรมอันลำเลิศและทรงคุณค่า เช่น เรือพระที่นั่งสุพรรณหงส์ ได้รับรางวัลเกียรติยศจากองค์การเรือโลกแห่งสหราชอาณาจักร คู่มือนำชมจัดทำเพื่อให้ผู้สนใจได้ทราบประวัติความเป็นมาของพิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติ เรือพระราชพิธีและความสำคัญของเรือพระราชพิธี
